Chris has a wealth of experience in the basketball industry accumulating over 27 years as a coach, scout, advance scout, video editor, clinician, consultant, writer, and administrator. Coach Denker is a 14 year veteran of NCAA Division I basketball coaching. He was a highly successful Head Coach of the Santa Clara University and Colorado State University women’s teams. In five seasons as Head Coach he averaged nearly 20 wins per season and his teams reached post-season tournaments in four of those five years including the NCAA Tourney as well as one NIT Final Four. He was part of 5 WCC championships in 9 seasons with Santa Clara.
Chris has coached professionally and internationally, serving as Head Coach and Director of Operations for the Eugene Chargers of the International Basketball League. He was selected as one of the Head Coaches of the 2007 IBL All-Star game. Chris spent the 2008 season abroad as Consulting Director and Coach of the Barnet BBC, London where he was the Head Coach of every team in the club (Women, Jr. Men, Cadets). He also spent one season on staff at Archbishop Mitty HS where they won the WCAL, CCS, & NorCal Championships and were CIF state runner-up.
Coach Denker and his company, NetScouts Basketball, provide scouting and consulting to college and professional teams in NCAA, NBA, and International basketball around the globe. Over the past four years he has been Head Coach & Director of several men’s and women’s professional teams representing the USA in international competition & tournaments in Asia. His teams include players from the NBADL, WNBA, and former NCAA all-stars. He has helped lead the USA All-Stars to wins over National Teams from Australia, New Zealand, China, Denmark, Lithuania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Hungary, Brazil, Canada, and more.
Chris has also conducted numerous camps and clinics in the USA, China, and England. He has been an individual skill development instructor for male & female players at all levels, from youth & high school, to college & professional athletes. He specializes in shooting, footwork, and offensive skill/position development and has worked with individuals, groups, teams, and large enrollment camps. He also provides consulting to coaches regarding playbook, scouting, video, and game planning.
Coach “Tino” has over 25 years of High School coaching experience in the Bay Area/Peninsula. He has coached boys and girls at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Chrystal Springs Upland, Leland, Prospect, and Westmont. He has also coached in the historic San Francisco Pro-Am League for over 8 years and coached 65+ players who have gone on to play professionally either in the WNBA or Internationally. Coach Valentino has been with DBA for 10 years, assists with Operations and Facilities and coaches both High School teams and Youth teams. He is also responsible for organizing our Redwood City area teams.
A graduate of Pioneer HS where he was the BVAL Player of the Year, 1st Team All-League, and CIF All-State HM. He was part of two BVAL Championship teams with the Mustangs. Rex led the CCS in scoring his senior campaign and was selected to the Simplyy Bay Area All-Star Game where he won the “Best Shooter in the Bay” 3pt. Shooting competition. Currently plays college basketball at DeAnza College where he is a starting guard. Besides his playing career and coaching, Rex is one of our top DR1VE Training Skills Trainers. He played DBA ball for 8 years and has been coaching for 3 years, coaching youth and HS teams alike
Quinn is a current NCAA Division I player at Northern Colorado University and alum of DBA. He has scored over 1,000 points in his college career and has numerous post-season awards along the way for All-League, All Newcomer, All-Defense, and more. Notably he was named to the 2023 NCAA Tournament All-West Region team while at Cal St. San Marcos and 1st Team All-State at West Valley College (2022). A three year Varsity performer at Bellarmine, Q helped the Bells to a CCS Open Title and 2 CCSOpen Runners-Up. He was named CCS Section Player of the Year, All-Bay Area, All-State CIF (twice). Quinn has coached multiple teams for DBA, is a lead DR1VE Training Skills Trainer, Leads our HS Strength & Conditioning Program, and speaks to our teams or mentors our kids when available during his busy playing schedule.
A graduate of Oak Grove HS where he had a successful playing career. Anthony is the Head Varsity Boys Coach at Pioneer HS. Coach Rowe has been with DBA for 10 years coaching both youth and HS teams. He has coached high school ball at Santa Teresa (Frosh/Soph) and Pioneer (Frosh, JV, & Varsity).
A native of Santa Cruz, Coach Tariq is another of our great alumni coaches. He had an outstanding high school career as an All-WCAL performer at Bellarmine. Currently, Tariq is an outstanding point guard on San Jose City College’s state ranked team. He has been Head Coach of both our 3rd-5th grade teams as well as our 9th grade team.
An alum of DBA who has successfully transitioned into coaching. He played for DBA for 5 years. Luka was an All-BVAL player and leading scorer at Leigh HS during his 3 year varsity career. Luka, an excellent motivator, has coached at Pioneer HS as a JV assistant and worked our Splash Programs as well as coaching teams for our DBA AAU programs for 3 years.
Coach Potter is an Assistant Coach at Cañada College and has been with DBA for 6 years. Formerly the Branham HS Varsity Head Coach, he also ran camps and did skill training while serving as JV coach. Josh has coached teams at all levels for DBA including middle school and high school age teams. He was also a part of our DJ Sackmann skills clinics for 2 years.
Coach Ciana had an amazing playing career on the highly successful
Pioneer Mustangs Women’s team earning all-BVAL awards. She is enjoying
a great college career at Mission College and is being actively recruited to
continue her career at a 4-year institution. Ciana coached our 3rd/4th grade
team, assisted our 5th graders, and has worked Splash boys/girls and has
experience as a skills trainer as well.
